The Alexander Technique can help you eliminate harmful physical tension from your body so that you can perform your daily activities with greater ease and efficiency. It has been used for over a century by people who suffer from stress-related conditions such as pain in the back, neck or shoulders and carpal tunnel syndrome, back pain, stiff necks and shoulders, and carpel tunnel syndrome. It is also frequently used by musicians, actors and dancers who want to improve the quality of their performance.

In these workshops, we will explore the principles and applications of the Alexander Technique in an informal and interactive setting. They are designed for new students and for experienced students who have not had a chance to explore Alexander learning in a group setting. Total enrollment will be limited to 20 students.

The instructors are both experienced teachers with each having over twenty years experience teaching the Alexander Technique.  While coming from differing backgrounds, they studied extensively with Marjorie Barstow, a Nebraska native, who was the first person certified by F. Matthias Alexander to teach his method. Marjorie’s sense of curiosity, humor, close observation and clear thinking is very evident in John and Robert's teaching.

John Macy PT, is a practicing Physical Therapist at the Workout Inc. He has taught the Technique in workshops across the US and abroad since 1983 and applies the technique often in his practice. In addition, he has extensive experience in teaching other movement reeducation methods and in analyzing and treating movement injuries and disorders.

Robert Rickover, has been teaching the Alexander Technique since 1981 and studied in England with several of the people whom F. Matthias Alexander trained to carry on his discoveries. He currently maintains practices in Lincoln, Nebraska, and Toronto, Canada. In addition he has taught across the country at workshops and seminars.

The Alexander Technique is an effective and efficient intervention in restoring postural health and movement efficiencies. John Macy and Robert Rickover are well versed in the applications and instruction of this technique. - Dan Miller, PT, MS, Moving Well Physical Therapy, Omaha

Often you're lucky to get one skilled instructor in an Alexander workshop. Having two was a tremendous bonus. It's many weeks later now, and I'm still working from the ideas I learned there." - Mark Lanham, Singer, Omaha
